I spent a couple of days in NYC. Met many lovely people everywhere I went. Had a ticket to be in The Daily Show audience, but was cut.  Cold and damp, I dropped by a small kosher establishment a few blocks from the studio. The owner was quite attentive, and wound up asking me out. Now, don't tell anyone, but it's been several years since someone I found interesting found me interesting. Now I can't wait to return to the Big Apple, or as I now call it, the Big Falafel. 1. Rest--early to bed and to rise--yeah! 2. Drink lots of decaf green tea 3. Got teeth cleaned--love my dentist! He did the work himself and let his hygienist take a break. 4. Caught up/cleaned up TIVO 5. Worked on income taxes 6. Worked on health reimbursement thingy 7. Wore comfortable clothes 8. Did ALL the laundry 9. Began spring cleaning .... the ides of Purim are upon us... 10. Ignored huge tree lying across the back yard 11. Went shopping with my darlin' daughter 12. Ignored ice and snow in driveway--wheee!! No mail!! 13. Planned SPRING BREAK--I'm going to THE DAILY SHOW!!!!! I'll be in the audience on April 17th -- YEAAAAAA!!! Planned all my meals at kosher establishments. Life be good! Tomorrow I go back to my well-paying job. Tonight I'm gonna stay up and watch the Oscars and eat junk food. Toodles! location: Home, sweet home...

It's been an eventful 24 hours. At about 10 am yesterday, one of my ancient trees fell over, hitting my neighbor's house and destroying my fence and the back of their pickup. It knocked out all the phones--and my dsl--and scared the hooey out of all of us. Fast forward to 5 pm--sitting on a plane waiting to go to DFW, then Austin. Took upgrade to 1st for second leg (a 25 minute flight) and was pleasantly surprised that I had a whole row to myself. Had a very nice visit with Jack Daniels. My baby bro picked me up at the airport and chauffered me to his house. Much better than a hotel--private room and full bath, hot tub, pool, wi-fi, Direct TV, sunny forecast--I don't ever want to leave... location: Guest suite, Round Rock, TX
